Welcome to my Lake District Walks and Drives

I was motivated to start this blog on a visit to the Lakes a few years ago. It struck me that after 20+ years of coming up to one of the most beautiful places in the country and using a mixture of published walks and ordnance survey maps, that I could take what I have experienced and add something to them as a resource for others to enjoy.

So, when time allows, I'm intending to populate this blog with maps, pictures and directions for some wonderful walks and drives that I have personally enjoyed. Just click on My Lake District Walks or My Lake District Drives or use the menu on the right to see the latest posts.

One thing you will notice is that most of the drives and walks described in this blog are in, over and around the Langdale Valley. There's a very good reason for this. I am lucky enough to have a timeshare lodge on the Langdale Estate.

It was originally my mother and father's but I bought it off them a few years ago and have continued to enjoy it and the Lake District.
